1 A sentence with “shì” is a sentence with a special verbal predicate which consists of both “shì” and its object. E.g. Tā shì wǒmen de lǎoshī.
2 The negative form of a sentence with “shì” can be made by placing a negative adverb ‘bù’ before “shì”. E.g.
Tā bù shì Mǎlì de péngyou.
